Minnesota RollerGirl tickets on sale!

Strange but true: I, Jenni, owner of Lunluax, designer of pretty wedding invitations and fancy greeting cards, am a roller derby player. For a year and a half, my alter-ego Rizzo has been skating with the Minnesota RollerGirls, practicing three times a week and knocking girls over during monthly bouts at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium in downtown St. Paul.

MNRG has a bout coming up Saturday January 27, and you can buy your tickets at Lunalux! Unfortunately Rizzo won’t be skating this time around, because I’m still recovering from a nasty derby accident back in November. But I highly recommed going! Tickets are only $10 in advance, and it’s a TON of fun! Moms and dads, you’ll be glad to know that kids under 9 get in for free, so it’s a fun and reasonably affordable family outing.

New cards in the store!

Thursday, January 18th, 2007

We have a ton of new greeting cards in our store right now. Recently we’ve received shipments of lovely letterpress notes from Snow & Graham (we’ve carried their cards for years and everyone always loves them), slick screen-printed cards from Binth, vintage-reproduction cards from NuVue, cheeky greetings from Bella Muse, and brightly colored letterpress-printed flats with rounded corners from Clover Press.

Today, I was particularly excited to receive a package from Tall Cow. We haven’t carried this line of cards in the Lunalux shop before, but I think our shoppers will love them. They’re screen-printed in bold colors, made with a slightly rough quality and a fantastic sense of humor.

Welcome to my new blog!

A big thanks to Mark Beihoffer at Dragonfly Networks for creating the new Lunalux website! I’m excited about the new design, and I look forward keeping you all updated on the goings-on at our studio.
