Letterpress greeting cards with a flourish

letterpress with a flourish, by LunaluxWe’ve added a few new cards to our wholesale line. The “There is only one loser in a bacon-eating contest” card, which we created in February, has been such a big hit in the Lunalux studio store that we’ve decided to offer it to our wholesale customers as well. And we’ve also created three new greeting cards, based on the postcard that we mailed out to our store mailing list last month. The same detailed antique flourish has been letterpress-printed on natural white wove-finish card stock, and paired with various greetings. My favorite: “You’re Pretty!” It’s printed in mango and magenta, and paired with a mango A2 envelope – perfect for Mother’s Day, right? There’s also an aqua and black congratulations card, and a lime and sepia thank you note. All of these cards are now available in our studio store, and wholesalers can download a sell sheet of these new products from our catalog page.

MinneapolisPicks.com picks Lunalux

mplspix.pngLunalux is featured in the February 1st e-mail newsletter from MinneapolisPicks.com. Have you seen this website yet? If not, you should check it out! It’s a great source for learning about local, independent shops and interesting goings-on, and this month we are thrilled to be the lead item. Thanks to Kara for including us!

fortunefolio.pngThe Lunalux Fortune Folio was recently added to productdose.com, a website with user-generated content about assorted retail products. Thank-you to Chandra at Greer in Chicago for calling this to our attention. The Fortune Folio also got shout-outs from two other design-focused blogs: Design Crush and BB-Blog.

2-4-6-8, who do we appreicate? Katie!

Friday, January 25th, 2008

katie.pngPlease meet Katie, the newest Lunalux intern! Katie is a senior at Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and she comes to Lunalux with much experience in illustration and stationery design. Though she’s only been here a few days, we’re already learned some fun stuff about her. To wit: she’s a twin, a vegetarian, and an avid bicyclist. So far we’ve kept her busy packaging various products for wholesale orders, but she’s chomping at the bit for some hands-on action, so hopefully she’ll get her first lesson on the Vandercook very soon.

Lunalux in MinnesotaMonthly stationery round-up

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

mnmonthlyjan082.pngWhen you see Minnesota Monthly’s January 2008 issue on the news stand, flip to page 34 for a little Lunalux mention – our JANUARY folded card is pictured in a photo montage of stylish stationery products (you’ll also see a few Snow & Graham notecards that we’re selling). The magazine also includes interesting features about the appointment-only fountain pen store Ink, and another stationery shop, Letterbox.

The January card, designed and letterpress-printed here at Lunalux, is available in our studio store for $3.00. It’s also part of the Habitual Correspondant - Months of the Year assortment, which includes one petite notecard for each month, to encourage your writing habit.

Look for Lunalux on the interweb

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

In the not-too-distant future, Lunalux hopes to seamlessly blend its old-fashioned sensibilities with new-fangled technology in a vast on-line store, where paper hoarders across the country – around the world, even – can browse a complete catalog of everything we make, and buy a little of this and a little of that. Until then, if you want Lunalux fine letterpress-printed paper goods, you have to either come to our store in Minneapolis or find us in a stationery store near you. Luckily, there are a few retail stores who are more technologically advanced than we are, and their online stores include a few of our products. To wit:

Red Stamp recently ordered a wide variety of Lunalux products! They’re a locally based internet-only stationery shop. So far, they’ve only added a few of our Call-me Cards to the site, but hopefully you’ll see invitations, letter sets and more on there real soon.

Greer in Chicago seems like an awesome store, and we’re thrilled to be part of their inventory. I’ve never visited the shop itself, but you can buy oodles of unique paper goods on their website, including a few items from the Lunalux catalog.

We’ve been selling our goods to Milwaukee’s Broadway Paper for many years. You can buy many of our calling cards on their retail website.

Cronin & Company specializes in paper goods appropriate for business and business-personal correspondence. If you use the “advance search” feature on their site to search for Lunalux, you’ll see that they stock an assortment of our greeting cards and stationery sets.

It’s possible that we’ve missed a source or two, so if you know of another online store that offers our products, please let us know!
