This is a great opportunity to dip your toe into the tempting waters of custom-printed paper goods, or augment your hoard of letter-writing accoutrements. Customized stationery is a thoughtful gift, too – ideal for weddings, birthdays, graduations, and other special events.
Each Stationery Saturday, we print a unique design, utilizing a selection from our collection of antique lead and wood type. Some weeks we print from delicate monogram sorts, other times we set weathered wood type. It might be stationery sheets, or folded cards or flat notecards, and the styles vary from traditional to modern. The paper is cut, the press is inked up and ready to go, you just pick the letters and watch as we work it Gutenberg-style. You’re welcome to look over our shoulder as we work, and we’ll de-mystify the process of letterpress printing step-by-step. Or you can leave us to do the heavy lifting while browse the selection of cards and gifts in our studio shoppe. We also offer complimentary coffee and a homemade cookies for you to enjoy whilst shopping. Your personalized stationery is ready before you know it!
July 31. For the mid-summer Stationery Saturday we’ve designed these refreshing little folded note cards. Simple, modern icons are pre-printed on bright white 3.5×5 folded cards. Options include the teal duck, tangerine owl, yellow bee, and lavender fleur. We’ll use 10-point-Clarendon type to set the name or phrase of your choice (up to 20 characters/spaces), and letterpress-print the cards in cool gray ink. We think these petite notes are ideal for late-summer correspondence. “A note from the lake…” “You host a mean cook-out.” “Looking forward to our trip to the State Fair.” You can invite your fellow paper-addict pals using the event listing on Facebook.
