Celebrate V-Day at Lunalux
February 13, 2009 by Jenni · 2 Comments
In observance of Valentine’s Day, we’re hosting another Stationery Saturday on February 14. Enjoy a glass of champagne or a coffee and some chocolates while your personalized stationery is letterpress-printed before your very eyes! These folded notecards can be customized with a name or phrase of your choice (up to 18 characters and spaces) in purple ink on ecru deckle-edge notecards, and paired with either purple or ecru envelopes. We’ll be running the Heidelberg Windmill this time around (instead of the lo-fi hand-cranked proof press), so you’ll have to keep your hands to yourself. At just $29 for 10 cards, this makes a great treat for yourself or a perfect gift. Visit our Stationery Saturday page for full details.
We’re also excited that this weekend’s event was featured on KSTP’s Twin Cities Live TV show on Tuesday afternoon. Thanks to Alexis for spreading the good word by including Lunalux in her segment about great things for single gals to do on Valentine’s Day. You can view the segment at the KSTP website.
Design + Print: e.e. cummings broadside
When Nancy came to Lunalux and asked us to create a print of an e.e. cummings poem, I was thrilled. I think his poems are so interesting and evocative, this one in particular. “and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart. i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)” It’s just perfect. So this was a fun little project for us to work on. It’s not a revolutionary design by any means, but I think the poem is well served by the clean sans-serif font. It’s letterpress printed in cheerful green ink on a super-soft cotton watercolor paper, and we printed just a small handful of them for Nancy to give as gifts. Suitable for framing!
